Natural Monument of the Teneguía Volcanoes

The natural monument of the Teneguía Volcanoes is a protected natural space in the municipality of Fuencaliente on the island of La Palma, in the Canary Islands, made up of a field of volcanoes.

It was created by Law 12/1987 of June 19, which declared the protected areas of the Canary Islands. It was segregated from the Cumbre Vieja natural park by Law 13/1994 of December 22. It has been protected to preserve the spectacular cones and lava flows from historic and prehistoric eruptions that have taken place on it. Among them are those of the Teneguía Volcano and the Fuencaliente Volcano. It also has an interesting sample of biodiversity in recently formed land, such as the Anataelia lavicola earwig, mosses and bejeques. The park covers 857.4 hectares.
