Yotta
Yotta (symbol Y) is an SI prefix indicating a factor of 1024 (one quadrillion).
Adopted in 1991, it comes from the Latin octo or from the Greek oκτώ (októ), which means eight, as it is equivalent to 10008. The reason why the letter "Y" to this word, it was to prevent it from starting with the letter "o", since it could be confused with a zero.
In computing, yotta can mean 280, instead of 1024, especially when used as a byte prefix (yottabyte). The table below shows the "short scale" and the "long scale", and this first one (the short scale) is nothing more than the English tracing of that number. Thus, the written number 1,000,000,000 (a one with nine zeros) would remain, like the Spanish "millardo", or the English tracing "billón", which in the original language would be billion. The same will apply to all short stopovers.
