The Malagasy, inhabitants of the island Madagascar revered a supreme god known as Yachar. This beneficial deity lacked statues, cults and other honors because, due to his goodness, it was not necessary to propitiate him and he also knew what was necessary for each man. Yachar had at his command a legion of beneficent spirits, a kind of colored angels, he was faced with the spirit of evil, Angat, and the supreme evil, Taivadu.
