Wooden box
Wooden packaging is used to transport heavy products (engines, machinery, etc.) as a container or for certain high-end traditional products (cigars, alcoholic beverages, etc.). However, its greatest utility is found in the horticultural sector.
The boxes for agricultural products are made up of thin sheets of poplar stapled together or with other assembly systems.
Wood plays its best role in direct collection in the field. Those products that go on the market without subsequent manipulations have their best resource in wood, as they are packaged directly at the foot of the tree. Its main advantages are:
- Wood packaging continue to enjoy a good image before the consumer as they perceive it as a Hygienic product and high quality connotations.
- Printable, although poorly, incorporating the brand and logo of the producer, as well as other practical messages.
- Always can be destroyed or recycled avoiding possible bacterial problems derived from defective washing.
The wooden box has managed to enter certain very localized market niches in terms of size and product in which it has obtained great loyalty from buyers. The most outstanding are strawberry, peach, clementine and other citrus fruits, all of them in small containers (from 2 kg to 4 kg).
The manufacturers of wooden boxes defend their product based on the quality and image of tradition and craftsmanship. Even so, it is the sector that has the least market share within the global packaging market.
