Abbreviations for days of the week

  • In Spain, Argentina and other countries, Wednesday's abbreviation is usually Xto not be confused with Tuesday (which gives us LMXJVSD instead of LMMJVSD). According to one of many theories, it is used thus by the influence of Alfonso X the Sabio in the orthographic normalization and the translation of manuscripts with abundant abbreviations.
  • In Costa Rica and Puerto Rico the code is used K for Tuesday, to distinguish it from the M of Wednesday.

Other data

  • According to an ancient custom of the Catholic Church, this day is dedicated to honoring Saint Joseph of Nazareth, the husband of the Virgin Mary.
