Comments
Years after the premiere of We were unknown, the situation in Cuba would become a focus of world attention due to the rise of the figure of Fidel Castro. Curiously, within the year of its release, this visionary film by John Huston was shunned by both leftists and rightists.
The handling of the action reaches an interesting climax at the end of the film, and the political content gives the thriller element a fresh dimension that is still current.
The film is inspired by the novel Rough Sketch, by Robert Sylvester.
