Waiting for the messiah

Waiting for the Messiah is a 2000 Argentine film directed by Daniel Burman and starring Daniel Hendler, Enrique Piñeyro, Héctor Alterio, Melina Petriella, Stefania Sandrelli, Imanol Arias and Dolores Fonzi among others. The film was co-produced between Argentina, Spain and Italy.

Plot

Young Ariel, a Jewish boy who lives with his father and runs a coffee shop, is unable to live freely because he constantly questions his identity. He coincidentally meets Santamaría, an unemployed, ex-banker, vagabond who lives by looking for documents in the garbage that he returns to their owners for small sums of money. Both will attend the collapse of personal projects, families, perspectives. Through his eyes we will have another vision of the things that surround us, another perspective of our lives harassed daily by existential crises.
