Viridiana Alatriste Pinal (Cuernavaca, Morelos, January 17, 1963-Mexico City, October 25, 1982) was a Mexican actress. Alatriste was one of the daughters of the also actress, Silvia Pinal. Biography and career
Viridiana Alatriste Pinal although other sources have cited her name as Viridiana Melanie Alatriste Pinal was born on January 17, 1963 in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico. She was the only daughter of the marriage between the actress Silvia Pinal and the actor and film producer Gustavo Alatriste. Her name "Viridiana" was given in honor of the famous film of the same name in which her mother starred, produced by her father and was directed by Luis Buñuel in 1961. She was the younger sister of actress Sylvia Pasquel and older sister of the singer Alejandra Guzmán. The film director, Luis Buñuel, was his godfather. His parents would later separate, with his mother Silvia declaring that Alatriste "was a gangster" (which is a term that was used to refer to a career criminal who at a certain point becomes an important member of a criminal organization). In 1967, his father would marry actress Sonia Infante, who was accused of being the cause of the breakup. between their parents, although later Sonia herself would declare that when they both began their relationship, Silvia and he had already separated. Pinal took a year to give her a divorce. With Infante, her father procreated what would be Viridiana's stepbrothers, Pedro and Ángela Alatriste. His first appearance in the world of entertainment was in 1973 with a participation in the program Silvia y Enrique (1973). In 1976, at the age of thirteen, he participated in the play Annie is a shot with her mother. Six years later in 1979, she participated in the telenovela Honrarás a tuos (1979). In 1980 she participated in the film La seducción, in which she shared credits with Katy Jurado, Gonzalo Vega and Noé Murayama. For her participation in the film, she was nominated for an Ariel Award in 1982 in the category of " Best female co-acting", which she did not manage to win. Death
On October 25, 1982, Viridiana was returning home from a party she had celebrated with her friends. At midnight, she decided to leave the place as she was too tired after having worked for more than twelve hours. She left driving her car, a Volkswagen Atlantic, the car overturned, falling into a ravine and causing her instant death, she was not wearing the seat belt since at that time it was not mandatory to use it. The exact reason for the accident was unknown, which took place in a sparsely urbanized area of Mexico City and was one of the reasons why it took them in locating it. Viridiana would die when she was only 19 years old. The first to receive the news of her death was her sister Sylvia Pasquel, who had to go to identify her body.
