Violadores del Verso is a Spanish rap group whose members are: Kase.O, Lírico, SHO-HAI and R de Rumba, all of them born in Zaragoza.

They are considered a benchmark in Spanish rap, and one of the best Spanish-speaking rap groups in history. His records Genios (1999) and Vivir para contarlo (2006) always appear on the lists of best Spanish rap records.

Violadores del Verso won a gold record for Vivir para contarlo (2006), and together with SFDK they are the only Spanish rap groups to date that have managed to win a gold record.

Biography

Group Starts

The first reference that exists of the four of them, collaborating together and calling themselves Violadores del Verso, occurs in the Gangsta Squad demo [formed by Lírico and Brutal (producer and DJ) "It's just a warning"], although they already existed, on Kase.O's second demo and later on Bufank's [formed by Juez (producer), R de Rumba (producer and DJ) and Hate (or Sho Hai)] collaborations of what would be the components of Violadores del Verso.

First works

In 1998 his first professional work appeared, there were 5 members, including Brutal (producer and DJ), brother of Kase.O, who participated as a dj. The work was a 6-track EP with the title of "Violadores del Verso". The first and only known productions by Lírico are given on this record. He has Fran Fuethefirst as a collaborator.

That same year the maxi was released Violadores del Verso presenta a Kase-O en: Mierda. This disc contains two songs and their respective instrumentals. Includes the controversial theme: "Shit" which concluded the famous "beef" between Kase.O and Metro (of the Geronación group). It is this album, although with the name of Violadores del Verso, only Kase.O and R from Rumba participate, without counting a couple of words that Hate and Lírico say in the two songs.

Professional consolidation

In 1999 their first LP as a group was published, Genios, in which Brutal had already left the group (he currently helps the group in their projects as well as being an employee in terms of creating los discos), an album that revolutionized the national scene and established them as a reference group for Spanish rap.[citation required] The collaboration of the American Jeru The Damaja stands out in the theme "Solo Quedar Consuelo". The second song on the album, "Maximum exponent" It was his single, the group's first video clip was made.

"The execution and recording of Genius, still having done the mini LP before, was the first thing we did at the professional level. We had already had contacts with studios and all that, but analog recording and going to NY to mix up the D-D-D-D studio was something else. With this album I think we really learned how things should be done, in terms of recording, mixing, promo, concerts, tour, etc. We got all over the state many times with this job, we played everywhere, whether they were cute or infecty chicks that, by the way, the latter abounded more. The rock hosted the motherfucking record and still today, it's still selling. Another very handsome plus of that album is the collaboration with Jeru the Damaja, who was colegue and without paying a hard one. We keep very good memories of that time." R de Rumba

In 2000 they published two works under the name Double V. First the maxi single Atrás, with three previously unpublished songs. The group's second video clip was recorded from the song that gives the album its title.

In 2001 they mixed their debut album and their maxi Mierda to create an album with a duration of one LP: Violadores Del Verso + Kase.O Mierda.

That same year, the LP Vicios y Virtudes appeared, with which they established themselves as one of the most important rap groups in Spanish.[citation required] The single from the album again had the same name as the album and gave rise to the third video clip.

"Vicios and virtues shows again a group in a state of grace, mature, simple, stepping on a terrain that dominate perfectly and in which they have little rival. Their rap does not understand of medium inks or their sound of artifices, they do not intend to revolutionize the genre much less the world, just do their work. And for that they employ dedication, effort and time and the result appears on a rotting record that lets the rage of Kase O, the poetry of Lirico and the excess of Hate in bright and lucid letters, all accompanied by the bases and samples of an R of Rumba increasingly archaeologist of jazz and funk and more demanding with perfection and sound." Julio A. Cuenca, Revista Rockdelux

Due to legal problems with a brand of whiskey, they returned to using their original name Violadores del Verso and in mid-2002, again with the original name, they released an EP, entitled Tú eres alguien/Bombo Clap, which featured two new tracks: a remix of "The City Never Sleeps" and the songs from a concert held at the Aqualung venue in Madrid. The disc was included along with the DVD of said concert. In this way, Violadores del Verso became the first Spanish rap group to publish a video of one of their concerts.

Four years later, in May 2006, they presented Vivir para contarlo/Haciendo lo nuestro, a maxisingle preview of their LP Living to tell it. This maxi has two new songs and the remix of one of them, as well as their corresponding instrumentals. It has the collaboration of Fran Fuethefirst, member of Cloaka Company. This maxi was number 1 in sales for several weeks and the best-selling single of the year 2006 since a few days it sold more than 18,000 copies.

His third LP, Vivir para contarlo, which came out on November 2, 2006, has been recorded and mixed at the Rap Solo studios by R de Rumba and mastered in New York at the studios < i>Master Disk by sound engineer Tony Dawsey. It is named after the title of the first song of the maxi single. The album could be heard in its entirety on the MTV page of Spain, since the group posted it online, which caused it to circulate on the Internet on P2P networks a week before its release. With this album they managed to sell more than 60,000 copies, for which they achieved the gold record in just 6 days, reaching number one on the sales list in Spain, as well as being nominated for the XI Edition of the Music Awards in the best hip-hop album category. They won an award competing with La Excepción and Haze. However, none of the members of the group went to collect the award, not even someone on their behalf. The group from Zaragoza also won the 'Best Spanish Act' award.; at the MTV European Awards held on November 1, 2007 in Munich, for which viewers of the music television channel were able to vote through its website.

"Living to tell is that great set of everything that is expected to contain a hip hop disc (originality, criticism, strength, wit, intelligence), a step forward in a race that does not seem to have brake, which led them to the best-selling lists: Living to tell/doing ours- and with which they broke the taboo of the style: a rap album that also likes others to the rap. The theme that gives title to the album, the crown jewel, shows some jazzy and reflective Verse violators who look at the path and feel proud of it." July A. Cuenca, Rockdelux Magazine

In 2008 the publishing house "Zona de Obras" published a book about the group, called "The secret children of funk. Conversations with Violators of the Verse". A talk-interview in which members talk about their history, work, memories, etc.

This same year they collaborated on the latest album Mala Sangre by Soziedad Alkoholika. Specifically in the remix of the song "Política del miedo", whose lyrics were composed by Violadores del Verso. The group from Zaragoza has repeatedly shown its support for Soziedad Alkoholika, denouncing at its concerts the persecution that, according to them, has been carried out against the Basque group, and inviting them to play in some of its performances.

On June 10, 2011 the group announces that they have given their last concert together for a few years, with the intention of concentrating on their respective solo works. Sho Hai had released in February 2011 the album "Doble vida" and started the corresponding tour, Kase-O was finalizing the album "Kase O Jazz Magnetism" which would see the light of day on December 5, 2011 with an official tour prepared for 2012, Lírico was also beginning to work on his solo project, which is titled "Un before and after", which saw the light at the end of 2012. Despite the fact that many followers feared a final separation from the group, Kase-O has declared that after satisfying personal needs, they will put on the best album by Violadores del Verso and that < i>the group is for life.

After completing the Jazz Magnetism tour, Kase-O has declared that he would begin making his next solo rap album, which has seen the light of day in September 2016 entitled "El Círculo", with collaborations several like that of Najwa Nimri, Xhelazz and the Violadores del Verso themselves.

In addition, thanks to Kase-O's album Jazz Magnetism, it won the award for best album and best group at the Aragonese music awards. For her part, Sho Hai also took the best song award for "Ella".

In 2022, after a long time without meeting in the studio, they starred in the most anticipated rap reunion in Spain recording the song "Únicos". The song was part of "Polvo", Sho Hai's solo album.
