The villain of Las Encartaciones is a Spanish breed of dog originating from the Las Encartaciones region in the province of Vizcaya in the autonomous community of the Basque Country and also in the autonomous community of Cantabria in Spain..
Features
This is a calm dog, a good guardian, but not aggressive towards the people around him. He is rustic, brave and easy to train. Traditionally it has been dedicated to catching cattle and big game.
They reach their final size at less than a year, about 60-65 centimeters high at the withers, their weight is usually around 35 kilograms. Their coat is usually brindle with reddish and gray streaks and some have it almost completely black.
Origins
This dog arose when the ranchers of Las Encartaciones (Vizcaya) selected certain crosses of the old Alano, looking for a lighter, faster hunting dog, with powerful prey and capable of following the cattle through the mountains for a long time. These dogs have never dedicated themselves to fighting, in fact in their original tasks they have needed to work as a team with their peers and have developed in a rural and family environment.
Health problems:
Due to the low popularity of this breed, there is not much information about its diseases and the care it should receive. From what has been investigated, this calm hunter does not require special care.
