Intaglio en lapis lazuli representado a Victoria, 100 - 200 A.D.,encontrado en Tongeren (Belgium)

Victoria is, in Roman mythology, the goddess who personified triumph. She is the daughter of Styx and sister of Potestas, Vis and Invidia.

Its temples on the Palatine and the Capitol of Rome stand out, where the statues that the winners consecrated to them are still preserved. Augustus had an altar raised in his honor in the Senate to commemorate the battle of Actium.

She was depicted as a winged woman, usually in the attitude of attaching a laurel wreath to the victors and Caesars. She is identified with the Greek goddess Nike.
