Vamp (MGS)
Vamp is a fictional character from the video game Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. He is one of the members of the Dead Cell unit, led by Solidus Snake (George Sears, former US President).
Vamp is perhaps the strangest character in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty; he is a bloodthirsty man, extremely fast and agile. He is so fast that he manages to dodge bullets just by seeing the position and movement of his enemies' muscles. He is also capable of walking on water, running vertically and jumping up to 3 meters, he has a technique in which he can make his shadows capture his victims, he also has large fangs with which he can take the blood of his victims, Vamp also possesses weapons such as his knives with which he causes suffering and fear to his victims. As it seems in the game, he is immortal, since Raiden shoots him 3 times, the first time he hits him in the forehead when the bullet is deflected by the magnetic field that protects Fortune since the bullet was directed at her, the second The time is in the confrontation against Vamp himself, and the last time when he takes Emma Emerich hostage and Raiden shoots Vamp in the head with the sniper rifle (he can be seen on the street at the end of the game while they talk Solid Snake and Raiden). During the game he accompanies Fortune several times, affectionately calling her "Queen". since both are a couple, but Solid Snake reveals to Raiden by Codec that Vamp's name is not because he looks like a vampire but that Vamp comes from bisexual since apparently he was the lover of Fortune's father, Commander Scott Dolph.
In the story that Snake tells him, he also tells him that Vamp is Romanian and when he was little he was with his family in a church and a bomb exploded leaving him and his entire family buried in the rubble, to survive he had to drink the blood from his family, hence his taste for blood.
Vamp, actually, like Naomi Hunter, has some very advanced nanomachines that heal him and give him reflexes and strength, which is why he seems immortal. When he is injected with a liquid capable of disabling the functions of nanomachines (the new FoxDie) he manages to die. This occurs after a duel of swords and knives with Raiden in which they fight while Old Snake gives time to Metal Gear Mk. III—that is, to Otacon—to reactivate Metal Gear REX. After Snake roughs him up by shoving entire magazines into his body, Snake injects him with something to disable the nanomachines, which ultimately kills Vamp.
Curiosities
Hideo Kojima was based on the Spanish dancer Joaquín Cortés to create Vamp; in fact, many of Vamp's movements during combat are typical of flamenco dancing.
