Valdezcaray
The Valdezcaray ski resort is located in the Iberian System, specifically in the Sierra de la Demanda in Rioja, in Spain. Take advantage of the slopes of the San Lorenzo peak, the highest in La Rioja and the second highest in the Iberian System, after Moncayo. In addition to this, in the XVI century, it gave its name to the Fuero de Ezcaray, also known as Fuero de Valdezcaray.
Description
This small resort (300 skiable hectares, with slopes of varying difficulty and slope) located in La Rioja is one of the most accessible places to practice skiing that exists. Oriented towards the north and west, it offers a pleasant day of leisure, which can be completed by visiting the surrounding places such as the monastery of San Millán de la Cogolla or the town of Ezcaray itself, where the Oja River is crossed.
Services
It has the usual services in this type of center: cafeteria, equipment rental, ski storage, ski schools, restaurant, shop, infirmary, playroom, etc.
There is parking for 1,400 cars and 100 buses.
It offers the following equipment: 9 lifts (6 chairlifts and 3 ski lifts) with capacity for 16,400 travelers per hour, 3 grooming machines, 2 wedge trucks and 1 milling machine that keep the accesses in ideal conditions. Valdezcaray has artificial snow installations on thirteen of its slopes (55%), using cannons located at 105 different production points.
Two independent schools operate in the resort: the Valdezcaray Ski Sports School (EPV) and the Valdezcaray Winter Sports School (EDIV).
