Urs Zimmermann (born November 29, 1959 in Mühledorf, Switzerland) is a Swiss former professional cyclist from the 1980s, whose best sporting year was 1986, when he managed to get on the podium of the Tour of France, in addition to other victories. Pello Ruiz Cabestany, in his book 'Stories of a Cyclist' makes the following literal statement about the Swiss cyclist: "I only remember one runner who has competed in this event (the Tour de France) during the modern era, without using elements other than those provided by natural nutrition. His name was Urs Zimmermann and he finished the tour in third position, but he only lasted a couple more years on the bike & # 34; "He did not take a single vitamin, and today it seems to me that it is practically impossible to endure twenty-something days, pedaling six hours a day, without medical recovery."
