UKUSA

The agreement between the United Kingdom and the United States (in English: United Kingdom – United States of America Agreement; acronym: UKUSA) is an alliance of Anglosphere nations formed in 1946, for the purpose of collecting intelligence information. UKUSA is made up of:

• The United States, through the National Security Agency.
• United Kingdom, through the Government Communications Headquarters.
• Canada, through Communications Security Establishment.
• Australia, through Defence Signals Directorate.
• New Zealand, through Government Communications Security Bureau.

The main purpose of UKUSA is to serve the ECHELON monitoring system. Also, as a result of the Snowden affair in 2013, he has been accused of interfering in the communications of other governments of non-English speaking countries.
