Contenido The Type 1943 or model M601 was the first German submarine chaser, built in 1944 at the Neptun shipyard. She was captured by the British in 1945, being scrapped three years after the end of World War II.
History
As successors to the 1940-type minesweepers, the Kriegsmarine commissioned a design that would allow ships of similar size to be built at the rate of one per week, in shipyards across Europe from Rostock to Toulon.
4 standard versions were built to be used as submarine chasers, torpedo boats and training ships.
A total of 21 ships were built, entering service in November 1944 until the end of World War II.
