Tim Allen
Timothy Alan Dick (Denver, Colorado, June 13, 1953), known professionally as Tim Allen, is an American actor, comedian, and writer. He is known for his role on the television series Home Improvement and for his starring roles in several popular films, such as the Toy Story film series (as the voice of Buzz Lightyear), The Santa Clause and Heroes Out of Orbit. Since 2011, he has starred in the ABC sitcom One For All in the role of Mike Baxter.
In 1995, he won the Golden Globe Award in the category: Best Actor in a TV Series - Musical or Comedy.
Biography
Allen was born into a family of eight children. His father, Gerald Dick, was a real estate salesman, who was tragically killed in a car accident, his mother was Martha Katherine Fox.
In his youth, Allen was jailed for two years for a drug-related offense (dealing a pound of cocaine). Already in 1980 he performed in a small theater in Detroit that allowed him to cross the United States from room to room for 10 years. Allen's film debut came in 1994 with The Santa Clause which turned out to be the highest grossing comedy of that year.
Career
In 1990, thanks to a starring role in the series Home Improvement, he achieved glory. He became a regular face of family series with humor and during the final season he came to earn 1.25 million dollars, being, along with the actors of Friends , the actor who earned the most. His success continued with family comedies like A Native in New York. He has also participated in films such as A Crazy Christmas, For Richer or Poorer, Jungle 2 Jungle and Wild Hogs where he shares stages with John Travolta and Martin Lawrence among others. He also had the opportunity to voice the character Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story tetralogy.
On the other hand, he has written two best-selling books: Don't stand too close to a naked man and I'm not really here .
Since 2011, she has starred in the series Uno para todas.
In 2018, he again voiced Buzz Lightyear in the Walt Disney Animation Studios film Ralph Breaks the Internet as an appearance in the film.
In 2021, Duelo de Manitas premiered, a TV show hosted by Tim Allen and Richard Karn. In Spain the program can be seen on the Decasa channel. Tim Allen in the Spanish version is dubbed by Pep Antón Muñoz and Richard Karn is dubbed by Manuel Bellido.
Personal life
On October 2, 1978, he was arrested at the Kalamazoo-Battle Creek International Airport in Michigan for possession of more than 1.43 pounds (650 grams) of cocaine. He was later found guilty of drug trafficking. However, he provided names of other distributors, in exchange for a sentence of three to seven years instead of a possible life sentence. He was paroled on June 12, 1981, after serving 2 years and 4 months in prison, Allen had inmate number #04276-040.
He was married to Laura Diebel from April 7, 1984, until they were legally separated in 1999. Their divorce was finalized in 2003. The two have a daughter, Katherine, born in 1989.
In 1998, he was arrested for drunk driving in Birmingham, Michigan and was recorded as having a blood alcohol content of 0.15. He was sentenced to one year in prison with probation, he entered a rehabilitation clinic as part of his judicial obligation.
Allen married actress Jane Hajduk (whom he had dated for five years) on October 7, 2006, in a small private ceremony in Grand Lake, Colorado.
On January 5, 2009, it was announced that he and Hajduk were expecting their first child together. In March 2009, their daughter, Elizabeth, was born.
In mid-2018, Tim Allen said he gave his heart to Christ, which affirms that he is a Christian.
