Théodore Tiffereau was a French photographer who used the daguerreotype to collect images of his travels through Mexico from 1842 to 1847. He worked in various mining regions of the country collecting views of ruins, port facilities, populations, mines, churches, huts and pleasant portraits of the indigenous settlers.

The magazine La Lumière reported on the daguerreotypes made by Tiffereau in Mexico.
