Plot

On the French island of Saint Pierre (off the Canadian coast), Neel, the culprit of a savage murder is sentenced to the guillotine. This has to be brought from the Caribbean island of Martinique, so it will take a long time to arrive. Meanwhile, in the custody of Captain Jean, and thanks to his wife, Neel becomes quite popular and indispensable on the island.
