The Verdict
The Verdict is a 1982 American film directed by Sidney Lumet and starring Paul Newman, Charlotte Rampling, James Mason and Jack Warden in the lead roles.
Plot
Frank Galvin is an elderly and run-down lawyer who spends his time drinking and doing odd jobs. An old associate, Mickey Morrissey, reminds him of a case that he has not yet concluded and in which Galvin has already intervened: that of a medical error committed in a hospital. Galvin works hard to work professionally again, and finds out that this case could be won at trial in favor of the victim's family. As he prepares the case, he receives offers to settle the matter without going to trial; But Galvin is willing to risk everything, to get a significant compensation for the family and to rebuild himself as a lawyer.
