The Strangler is a novel by Manuel Vázquez Montalbán.

This is a complex work in which the protagonist —since his confinement in a penitentiary asylum— recalls his own story, full of false or authentic clues that make the reader doubt the veracity of everything told.

With the character of the strangler, Vázquez Montalbán draws the prototype of the new man: unsupportive, victim and executioner of the principle that man is a wolf to man.
