The Rose Tattoo (film)
The Rose Tattoo is a 1955 American film directed by Daniel Mann. Starring Anna Magnani and Burt Lancaster in the lead roles. Based on the play of the same name by Tennessee Williams.
Plot
A town in Louisiana, home to Italian Americans, is upended when police kill a trucker while smuggling. Her widow Serafina Delle Rose (Anna Magnani ) is deeply grieved, and as time goes by she becomes more and more isolated in herself. She wants her teenage daughter Rosa (Marisa Pavan) to do the same, but she ends up leaving to live with her boyfriend, Jack Hunter (Ben Cooper ). It is then that a handsome man, Álvaro Mangiacavallo (Burt Lancaster), also a truck driver, enters Serafina's life.
