The Latin Brothers
The Latin Brothers is a Colombian salsa band. It was founded by Julio Ernesto Estrada "Fruko" in 1974 as the sister orchestra of Fruko and his Tesos. The group is currently directed by Julio Estrada López "Fruko Jr".
Origins
With the creation of The Latin Brothers in the early 1970s and due to their successes, the directives of Discos Fuentes, headed by the brothers Pedro and José María Fuentes, supported the formation of various groups that continued to explore the new expression musical that had taken its first steps in the suburbs of New York, within the Latino communities.
The triumphant arrival to the Fruko y sus Tesos orchestra, of Álvaro José Arroyo (Joe Arroyo), and Wilson Manyoma Gil (Wilson Saoko) who stood out as revelation voices, both as solo vocalists and as a group, this produced the departure of Edulfamid Molina Díaz (Piper Pimienta), as a result of that the Fuentes brothers, owners of the record label, Discos Fuentes, promoter and co-creator of Fruko y sus Tesos met with its director, maestro Julio Ernesto Estrada ' Fruko' they made the decision to create a new orchestra so as not to lose the voice of the great singer 'Piper Pimienta', and they gave it the name The Latin Brothers.
In 1974 the first album of the orchestra The Latin Brothers appeared, with the lead voice of the one who imposed the first hits of the orchestra, Píper Pimienta Díaz.

Cuban Alfredo de La Fe, nominated for two Grammy Awards in 1980 and Violinist of the Year from 1977 to 1981 at the Latin New York Awards, is another of the famous musicians who have worked with The Latin Brothers, as well as vocalists Will Pertuz and Yorthley Rivas, who also recorded for Cariaco, Piper Pimienta who performed their famous hit "Las caleñas son como las Flores" and Joseíto Martínez, who with the song “Sobre las olas” achieved international success for The Latin Brothers, among others.
The Latin Brothers has been a successful platform to launch various vocalists and instrumentalists to stardom; In his repertoire, with more than 35 years of artistic activity, in which there are multiple classics of salsa and Caribbean music that still remain in the taste of his many followers, he continues to be in force and opening markets in the world.
