Dick Dastardly & Muttley in their Flying Machines (The Devil Squad, Pierre Nodoyuna and his Devil Squad or The adventures of Pierre Nodoyuna and Patán in his flying machines in Spanish) was an animated series set in the aviation adventures of World War I but starring Pierre Nodoyuna, the villain of the series Los autos locos (possibly a prequel to said series), created by the American production company Hanna-Barbera and which was broadcast for the first time on September 13, 1969 on the CBS television network. The series in turn had a show format and contained various sections such as the Wing Dings and Patán the Magnificent (Magnificent Muttley), in which Muttley dreamed of being the hero of his adventures. The series was known as Pierre Nodoyuna, Patán y sus Máquinas Voladoras in South America (except Venezuela), respecting the title in English. The Winged Jokes section was also renamed Jokes on the Fly.

Characters

  • Pierre Nodoyuna (Dick Dastardly In English) is an excellent pilot of his squadron and the main protagonist of the series. The flying crosses allude to the mythical German pilots of the first world war. It has a mission to catch and end the courier pigeon that delivers the messages to the enemy. The last name Dastardly, in Spanish means Cruel or Ruin, and the last name Nodoyuna is a script for the phrase "I don't give one".
  • Patán (Muttley in English) is the dog companion Pierre. Copilot of your biplane. Patán is sarcastic and enjoys when his boss is mischievous and then laughs at him with deaf and joy. On the contrary, he refuses among his boss's teeth as soon as he scolds him and says ''Patan, do something'. Its laughter is very similar to the asmatic laughter of Lindo Pulgoso. He likes to be given medals, in exchange for saving his life, he can use his tail as a propeller to fly.
  • Tontin (Zilly): an absolute inept for his cowardice that always flees as a coward. He always lives shaking and hides his head in his suit.
  • Tonton (Klunk): an aviator who doesn't understand anything he says and therefore creates more than one mistake, and the only one who understands him is Tontin.
  • The Messenger Dove (Yankee Doodle Pigeon)
