Thamnocalamus is a genus of herbaceous plants in the Poaceae family. It is native to eastern Asia and South Africa. It comprises 28 described species and of these, only 2 accepted.

Taxonomy

The genus was described by William Munro and published in Transactions of the Linnean Society of London 26(1): 33, 157. 1868. The type species is: Thamnocalamus spathiflorus (Trin.) Munro
