History

It was founded in January 1966 by C.P. Ignacio Guerra Pellegaud and Lic José Luis Contreras Calva —co-founders of the Universidad del Valle de México and former president of the Federation of Private Mexican Institutions of Higher Education (FIMPES).

Facilities

The facilities are comfortable and accessible at each of its study levels.

Marine Campus

In 1968, the first campus of the University was inaugurated in the Marina Nacional 162 building, which is today part of the Marina-Cuitláhuac Campus.

In 1975, the degrees in Tourism Business Administration, Marketing, Finance and Economics began, consolidating the area of Economic-Administrative Sciences, while a year later the Division of Graduate Studies was created, teaching specialties in Marketing, Human Resources Administration, Financial Administration and Industrial Operations.

Dentistry Clinic

In 1970, the career of Dental Surgeon began, one of the careers that today gives prestige to the University and the first generation of professionals from UNITEC graduated.

In 2003, the new Faculty of Dentistry Clinic was inaugurated, whose facilities today constitute a cutting-edge model in dental technology and dental teaching. With this infrastructure and through its community service, diagnostic, emergency and radiology services are carried out; surgical, reconstructive and rehabilitative care; pediatric care, endodontics and orthodontics.

To perform dental care, every fifty students are supervised by an instructor. As part of the preparation of students at the Faculty of Dentistry, from the first semester they carry out practical exercises with artificial teeth, models and simulators. When completing the second semester, they venture into the Dental Clinic performing cleanings and prophylaxis, upon entering the third they expand their practice in endodontics and dental surgery to create cavities. Starting in the sixth semester, they access the comprehensive clinic.

The UNITEC Faculty of Dentistry was the eleventh private school to obtain certification from the National Council of Dental Education (CONAEDO) by exceeding the necessary academic and clinical standards.

Cuitláhuac Campus

In 1990, the second campus of UNITEC, Cuitláhuac, opened at Calle de Norte No. 67 in the San Salvador Xochimanca neighborhood.
