Technique (from the Greek τέχνη téchnē 'art') is the set of procedures, rules, norms, actions and protocols that aim to obtain a certain result and effective, whether in the field of computing, science, art, sports, education or in any other activity.

Technique requirements

The technique in the first place requires both manual and intellectual skills, often the use of tools and various knowledge. In animals, the techniques are characteristic of each species. In man, the technique arises from his need to modify the environment and is characterized by being transmissible, although it is not always conscious or reflective. Generally, each individual learns it from others (sometimes invents it) and, finally, modifies it. The belief is widespread that only people are capable of building something with their imagination so that they can later materialize in reality. However, some higher primates, apart from man, can make tools. The technique, sometimes difficult to differentiate from technology, arises from the need to transform the environment to better adapt it to your needs.

History

The history of technique is the history of the invention of tools and techniques for practical purposes. Modern history is closely related to the history of science, since the discovery of new knowledge has made it possible to create new things and, reciprocally, new scientific discoveries have been made thanks to the development of new technologies, which have extended the possibilities of experimentation and knowledge acquisition.
