Team Flanders-Baloise
Team Flanders-Baloise (UCI code: TFB) is a Belgian cycling team in the UCI ProTeam category. He participates in the UCI ProSeries road cycling divisions, and the UCI Continental Circuits, also racing in those UCI WorldTour circuit races to which he is invited.
The general manager is Christophe Sercu and the sports directors are Walter Planckaert and Hans De Clercq. Its main sponsors are Topsport Vlaanderen, which is a project of the Flemish government to support athletes in that region, and Baloise an insurance company.
Team history
The team was founded in 1994 under the name Vlaanderen 2002-Eddy Merckx and was later renamed Vlaanderen 2002-T-Interim. The Belgian chocolate company Chocolade Jacques assumed its sponsorship in 2005, when Vlaanderen 2002-T-Interim merged with another Belgian team, Chocolade Jacques-Wincor-Nixdorf, becoming known as Chocolade Jacques-T-Interim.
In 2008, Chocolade Jacques withdrew its sponsorship and Topsport Vlaanderen took over as main sponsor. His best season has undoubtedly been the 2014 season, as he reached number one both in teams and as an individual, the latter with the rider Tom Van Asbroeck, on the calendar (UCI Europe Tour); The team had already won with Niko Eeckhout the award for best European rider in the 2006 season.
