Taro Ishida

Gentarō Ishida (石田 弦太郎, Ishida Gentarō^?, Kyoto, Japan, March 16, 1944 – Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture, September 21, 2013), known by his stage name Tarō Ishida (石田 太郎, Ishida Tarō^?), was a Japanese actor and seiyū. Until the time of his death he was affiliated with Granpapa Production.

Biography

Ishida was born on March 16, 1944 in the city of Kyoto, Japan. His father was the actor Shigeki Ishida (1924-97). He attended the foreign language faculty (Spanish) at Sofia University in Tokyo, but did not graduate. Ishida also served as a priest at Jōkei-ji temple in Kanazawa, Ishikawa.

Ishida was married to actress Fusako Tachibana until her death in 2006. He died on September 21, 2013 due to an acute myocardial infarction.
