Contenido The speak of Luna is a linguistic variety of the Leonese language that occurs in the region of Luna, in the province of León, Spain.
The speech that is still maintained to a greater or lesser extent in this region of Leon, is the same that we can find in sister regions such as: Alto Sil, Laciana and Omaña, as well as in neighboring Asturian councils. They are part of the western Leonese dialect area, called pachuezo.
From the phonic point of view, one of the most significant features is the realization of the phoneme /ʎ/ as [ʈʂ], a phenomenon known as che vaqueira, which is typical in areas where pachuezo is spoken.
