Robert Paul "Tad" Williams (born March 14, 1957) is the author of several science fiction and fantasy novels, including The Song of the Tailchaser, the Memory, Sorrow and Thorn series and the Otherland saga.

Tad Williams won the Corine award (2004) for his Otherland saga and was nominated for best novel in 2005 by the British Fantasy Society for Shadowmarch

Williams completed the writing of the novels belonging to the Shadowmarch saga, the first volume of which was published in November 2004 and the last in 2010. Williams has also collaborated with Michael Moorcock, writing stories of Elric of Melniboné in the collection Tales of the White Wolf.

He returned to the world of Longing and Sorrows in The Last King of Osten Ard, which after many delays was announced on Tad Williams' blog in April 2014. and was published in English in January 2017 by DAW Books in the United States and Hodder Books in the United Kingdom.

Tad Williams lives with his wife between London and San Francisco.
