Sylvia del villard
Sylvia del Villard (Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico, February 28, 1928 - San Juan, Puerto Rico, February 5, 1990) was a Puerto Rican actress, choreographer, and dancer.
Trajectory
Doña Sylvia wrote works such as: El baquiné, Acquelarre Tambó, El reto, Gri-Gri and others.
He also directed the Afro-Boricua ballet company El coquí and founded the Luis Palés Matos theater in San Juan in 1977.
In addition, she organized the Soninke group in New York City where she worked as a public system teacher.
Due to her great dedication to community social work, such as the one she carried out as a member of the Ciudad Modelo de San Juan 1971 program in poor communities, where together with the now well-known psychiatrist Dr. Wilfredo G. Santa (Boricuas Hall of Fame Home Page, El señor Boricua Famous People from P.R.), walked the alleys of disadvantaged communities such as Tras Talleres, Buenos Aires, La Perla, etc., his name has been given to treatment programs such as the "Sylvia del Villard Continuing Day Treatment Program (Roberto Clemente Center Program - Gouverneur Hospital - New York), in Chicago as part of the "Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center is the " Sylvia of Villard Hall".
