Supreme Court of the Eastern Caribbean

The Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court is the highest judicial court in six independent countries (Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines) and three British Overseas Territories (Anguilla, the British Virgin Islands and Montserrat).

Historical

It is located in the eastern region of the Caribbean Sea. It began its work in 1967, replacing the Supreme Court of the Associated States of the West Indies and is made up of 19 ministers elected by a commission with the exception of the Chief Minister, who is appointed by the monarch of the United Kingdom. The Court has been chaired since 2003 by Sir Brian Alleyne.
