Mission STS-61-B was the second in the history of the United States Space Shuttle Atlantis. Its main objective was to put three satellites into orbit: the Morelos II from Mexico, the AUSSAT-2 from Australia and the SATCOM KU-2 from the United States of America. Among the crew, Dr. Rodolfo Neri Vela, the first Mexican astronaut, stood out.

The total duration of the mission was 6 days, 21 hours, 4 minutes and 49 seconds. The space shuttle took off on November 26, 1985 and returned on December 3 of the same year.
