City Council

Tremedal de Tormes is a Spanish municipality and town in the province of Salamanca, in the autonomous community of Castilla y León. It is integrated within the Tierra de Ledesma region. It belongs to the judicial district of Salamanca.

Its municipal area is made up of the towns of Peñalvo, Trabadillo and Tremedal de Tormes, it occupies a total area of 33.46 km² and according to the demographic data collected in the municipal register prepared by the INE in 2017, it has a population of 45 inhabitants.

History

Although the archaeological remains show us a previous settlement, which would place us in the Bronze Age with the Tremedal Warrior, having also documented a Roman presence in the term, the foundation of the current Tremedal dates back to the Middle Ages, obeying the repopulation carried out by the king of León Alfonso VI, when it was framed within the Alfoz de Ledesma, later coming to depend on the count of Ledesma. With the creation of the current provinces in 1833, Tremedal was integrated into the province of Salamanca, within the Leonese Region.
