Still of the Night (film)

Still of the Night (Under suspicion in Spain and In the stillness de la noche in Latin America) is a 1982 American film by Robert Benton starring Roy Scheider and Meryl Streep.

Plot

George Bynum, a patient of Manhattan psychiatrist Dr. Sam Rice (Roy Scheider), is brutally murdered. Shortly after, Dr. Rice receives a visit from a Bynum co-worker and his lover Brooke Reynolds (Meryl Streep), as well as Detective Vitucci, in charge of the investigation. Rice reviews the notes from his sessions with Bynum and begins his own investigation. At the same time, he falls for the enigmatic Brooke, despite her increasingly suspicious behavior. The closer Rice gets to the truth, the more he puts his life in danger.
