Stan Marshall
Stanley "Stan" Marsh is a character from the television series South Park. He is inspired by the co-creator of the series, Trey Parker, who also gave him the voice. Stan is the protagonist of the series and one of the main characters along with his friends Kyle Broflovski,
Kenny McCormick and Eric Cartman. He made his television debut when South Park first aired on August 13, 1997, after first appearing in the short series The Spirit of Christmas created by Parker and Matt Stone, in 1992 (Jesus vs. Frosty) and 1995 (Jesus vs. Santa).
Stan is a fourth-grader who often has quirky experiences not quite typical of traditional small-town life in his fictional hometown of South Park, Colorado. Stan is generally depicted as friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and laid back. He often shares a leading role with his best friend Kyle as the show's lead. Stan has no reservations in expressing his distinct lack of regard for adults and their influences, as the adult residents of South Park rarely make use of his critical faculties.
Like the other South Park characters, Stan is computer animated to emulate the original method of the cutout animation program. He also appears in the movie South Park: Bigger, Longer & amp; Uncut (1999), as well as in South Park-related media and merchandise. While Parker and Stone describe Stan as a normal boy with common childish tendencies, his dialogue is often intended to reflect more adult-oriented stances and views on topics and has been frequently quoted in numerous publications by experts in the fields of politics, religion, popular culture and philosophy.
Paper
Stan lives in South Park with his family, consisting of his father Randy, a geologist, his mother Sharon, a secretary at a rhinoplasty clinic, his 12-year-old older sister Shelley, who bullies and beats him regularly, and his centennial wheelchair-bound grandfather Marvin, who calls Stan "Billy" and has tried to influence Stan to commit a mercy death on him. He attends Mr. Garrison's fourth grade elementary class. For the first 58 episodes of the series (1997 prior to the fourth season episode "4th Grade" in 2000), Stan and the other main characters were in the third grade. Stan is frequently embarrassed and/or teased by his father's antics and frequent drunken acts in public.Stan has a relationship as his uncle Jimbo's nephew receiving moderate attention in the first two seasons of the series. series.
Among the main characters of the series, Kyle is defined as the only Jewish child, Eric Cartman is renowned for his obesity and cruel nature, and Kenny is characterized for being poor and the deaths that frequently befall him. Rather than having a major distinguishing feature, Stan is portrayed (in the words of the series' official website) as "normal, average, American, everyday kid".
Stan is modeled after Parker, while Kyle is modeled after Stone. Stan and Kyle are the best of friends, and their relationship, which is meant to reflect the real-life friendship between Parker and Stone, is a common theme throughout the series. The two have their disagreements, but they always make up without any long-term damage to their friendship. As is the case with his other friends and classmates, Stan is frequently at odds with Cartman, resenting Cartman's behavior and openly making fun of his weight. A recurring gag is the dialogue between the two, in which Stan calls hurtfully at Cartman "Hey, Fatty!", receiving Cartman's irritated and hurt response "Don't call me Fatty!", showing Stan as the only one capable of sentimentally hurting Cartman. Stan also shares a close friendship with Kenny, with Kenny confessing that Stan is one of the "best friends a man could have." Stan can understand Kenny's muffled voice perfectly, and usually exclaims the catchphrase "Oh my God, they killed Kenny!", following one of Kenny's deaths, which allows Kyle to get on with "sons of bitches!". Stan is the only character in the group to have had a steady girlfriend, Wendy Testaburger, and their relationship was a recurring theme in previous seasons of the series. Despite the conciliation and statement they returned again in the season 11 (2007) episode "The List".
