Staehelina dubia is a plant of the Compositae family.

Description

Mata glauca of 1-4 dm; white-tomentose leaves on the underside (greener on the upper side); terminal chapters with purpurescent involvement, 15-20 x 3-5 mm; purple flowers; 4-5 mm oblong achenes, with 20-25 mm pappus.

Distribution and habitat

Currently it is found in the east, center and south of the Iberian Peninsula on scree and dolomitic slopes of the meso-Mediterranean and supra-Mediterranean floors, as well as among limestone Mediterranean forest thickets

Taxonomy

Staehelina dubia was described by Carlos Linnaeus and published in Species Plantarum 2: 840. 1753.
