Contenido The square kilometer is the unit of surface, or area, that corresponds to a square with a side of one kilometer. It is equivalent to one million square meters. In the International System of Units (SI), its symbol is km²: it does not admit a point, capital letter, or plural (see spelling rules for SI symbols).
