Sparrowhawk (Earthsea)

Gavilán (In English Sparrowhawk) is the protagonist of A Wizard of Earthsea and an important character in the other books of the Earthsea cycle, by Ursula K. Le Guin.

Sparrowhawk is just a boy when great magical power is revealed within him, saving his village from an invasion. As recounted in A Wizard of Earthsea, he is tutored by the wizard Ogion, who sends him to Roke, where he becomes a Wizard, but must learn the rules of the world of Earthsea as it refers to in the book. Later he becomes a legendary wizard of Earthsea, upon recovering the Ring of Erreth-Akbé (as recounted in The Tombs of Atuan), and managing to heal the breach that has opened in the world in The Farthest Shore, also restoring the royal lineage of Earthsea.
