Toponymy
Philologists such as Rafael Lapesa attribute the toponym Solórzano to an influence of the pre-Roman words "field" or "meadow". In the past it would be called Selórzeno. In the year 1618 it is said that Mr. Juan Fernando Mioño y Bravo de Hoyos y Solórzano Acebedo was lord of the house of Solórzano.
History

The first news we have of the parish church of San Pedro that is located in this town dates back to the year 1615, the body of it must have been built between 1590 and 1630, according to Karen Mazarrasa Mowinckel, author of a book on the monumental heritage of this municipality. The presbytery houses the altarpiece of San Pedro, a baroque work of pre-Churrigueresque style, made between 1694 and 1702 by the masters Juan del Arroyo, Bartolomé de la Bodega and Juan de Lombera. Within the chapter of civil architecture, the most notable is the Palacio del Campo Solórzano, located in the Puente neighborhood. It is a building perhaps from the middle of the XVII century.

The palace of Antonio Maura stands out, an asset of local interest, as well as two inventoried assets: the “Campo Solórzano” mansion and the hermitage of San Sebastián.
