Solomon lefschetz
Solomon Lefschetz (September 3, 1884 - October 5, 1972), Russian-American engineer and mathematician, pioneer in the development of algebraic techniques of topology, a word he created in 1930.[citation needed]
Biography
She was born in Moscow and studied in Paris and Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. Lefschetz began working as an engineer in the United States; after losing both hands in an accident, he became interested in mathematics. He taught (1924-1953) at the universities of Mexico [citation needed ] and Princeton, where he also worked as editor of Annals of Mathematics . Among his contributions to topology, he highlighted the study of transformations in which certain points remain fixed. He was awarded for his work with various international distinctions.
