Secondary education around the world

Comprehensive Training Center

The Centro de Formación Integral (C.F.I.., previously called Centro de Formación Laboral) is an educational service under the branch of Education Special created in 1986, beginning to work in a house rented by the General Directorate of Culture and Education of the Province of Buenos Aires. Two years later, he moved to the house-room of the School No. 18 on Dorrego street, but the increase in enrollment and the incorporation of new workshops, added to the deterioration of the building, led to the authorization in 2001 of the transfer to a property located at 733 Ramón Hernández street and since 2006 it has been operating at Pasaje Venini and Pasteur, Evita neighborhood.

Currently there are one hundred students with intellectual disabilities, deaf and hard of hearing, motor disabilities, visual disabilities and severe emotional disorders, all of them between 12 and 16 years of age.

Pedagogical and labor development

Resolution 1969 of this year, formed the Comprehensive Training Center (C.F.I) dividing the school population into two cycles: Basic and Superior.

In the educational establishment, general training is provided to the school population in terms of the strictly pedagogical: mathematics, language techniques, natural sciences and social sciences, in addition to specific technical training consisting of what is technically called &# 34;families of professions": food in both shifts, agricultural production, handicrafts, clothing and civil constructions that are also divided into basic training and higher education.

Upon reaching this last step, students carry out internships in an integrated way with the Professional Training Center 401 and 402, E.E.T. 2, Agrarian Technical School, Art School and Railway Cooperative, now joining the Changomás company to which a student from the establishment attends, as an intern. Also, three other students are working in the orbit of the municipality.

"We point out that students can have different opportunities to carry out their school career, with opportunities to develop their skills in other institutions, achieving their autonomy and determination for a future life project"

He singled out LA VERDAD, Claudia Perelli, in charge of the Comprehensive Training Center (C.F.I).

The teacher highlighted that:

"according to the functional abilities of each student, the occupational therapist together with the educational assistant evaluates them and determines which workshop they can be integrated. We try to specialize in some other environments, outside the institution, always aiming at that comprehensive training that is sought."

Precisely, Perelli emphasized the opening received from the Railway Cooperative that added students as interns to its campus.

Students have a Student Center integrated into other similar centers from other educational establishments in the city.

The work activities are carried out within the framework of a cooperative and thus a group of students that make up the same have participated in a training carried out in the city of Bahía Blanca, in a cooperative meeting where experiences were also exchanged.

Staff

The functional organic plant of the Center is made up of a director, secretary and the technical team made up of a social, educational and occupational therapist assistant, in addition to six integrative teachers, two pedagogical support teachers, as well as a theater teacher.

Claudia Perelli mentioned that "we receive general training with the teachers of schools 501, 502, 503 who are not part of our functional organic plant, but are in our establishment and we share tuition".

Regarding the institutional aspect, the C.F.I.(Centro de Formación Integral) also develops joint activities with other schools located in the "Evita" neighborhood, an authentic educational complex in the city where all the levels and branches of education.
