Scout trooper

The scout troopers are characters from the Star Wars universe. They are soldiers of the Galactic Empire, they were elite units basically dedicated to the exploration and reconnaissance of terrain and planets, their special training made them completely different from that of any other imperial soldier: their training was not as military as that of The other soldiers were more technical and supportive, although they also received instructions on handling weapons, especially sniper rifles that became their favorite weapon. They could survive weeks without support or help. They are Imperial troops designed as scouts wearing light armor that is considered more flexible than the standard uniform. Like many of their fellow infantrymen, Scouttroopers wore a sort of black bodysuit covered in white armor. Scouts often work in conjunction with light reconnaissance vehicles such as the speeder bike. For that reason, they are sometimes called mounted scouts or bikers. These are equipped unlike normal stormtroopers, with helmets designed for high speed travel on speeder bikes being lighter and incorporating a visor, polarized lenses and a special anti-dust filter, as well as being the Imperial snipers capable of killing at very far distances.

A group of scout troopers patrolled the forest moon of Endor and had encounters with members of the Rebel Alliance. On this occasion, Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa got rid of several scout troopers during their raid on said moon.

Although not seen in the films of the series, during the Battle of Hoth a number of scout troopers equipped with speeder bikes were deployed from AT-ATs, wearing slightly modified armor and helmet to withstand Cold climates.

There was also a unit of scout soldiers assigned to special or covert operations, who wore black armor and received direct orders from the Emperor.
