• Ferdinand de Saussure(Geneva, Switzerland, 26 November 1857 – ibid, 22 February 1913), Swiss linguist, son of the former.
• Horace-Bénédict of Saussure(Chêne-Bougeries, canton of Geneva, February 17, 1740 - Geneva, January 22, 1799), aristocrat and Swiss geologist.
• Nicolas-Théodore de Saussure, (14 October 1767 - 18 April 1845), son of the former, chemical, naturalist and scholar of plant physiology.
