Santa Lina
Santa Liña, officially and in Catalan Santa Linya, is a town belonging to the municipality of Avellanes Santa Liña, in the region of La Noguera, in the province of Lleida, Autonomous Community of Catalonia, Spain.
Geography
Santa Liña is a small town, located in an area where a large number of rainfed crops stand out, such as olive or almond trees, distributed as "terraces", and extensive oak and pine forests that cross a rugged terrain, formed by precipices and plateaus, up to the Camarasa Reservoir.
History
The municipality as such disappeared in 1970, when it merged with the municipality of Avellanes to form Les Avellanes and Santa Liña.
Communications
It can be reached from Balaguer, the capital of the region, following the road that connects Balaguer with Ager, and turning off towards Santa Liña at the Avellanes crossroads. The Santa Liña station is also connected to Lérida by the Lérida-Puebla de Segur railway line.
