Samael Aun Weor
Víctor Manuel Gómez Rodríguez (Bogotá, March 6, 1917; - Mexico City, December 24, 1977), known as Aun Weor (since 1947) and as Samael Aun Weor (since 1954), was a Colombian esotericist, writer and lecturer, founder of the modern Gnostic movement, which some authors call neognosticism, referring to the time in which it disseminated its teaching, although this movement has little to do with the Gnosticism of the first and second centuries.
After his death, other organizations called "gnostics" arose ―as derivatives of the initial movement that V.M Samael Aun Weor founded in Latin America, Spain and other parts of the world.
Biography
Víctor Manuel Gómez Rodríguez was born on March 6, 1917 in Bogotá, Colombia. He was the son of Manuel Gómez Quijano and Francisca Rodríguez. He felt attracted from a very young age to esotericism, studying in various spiritual, Rosicrucian and theosophical groups in Bogotá At the age of seventeen he began to participate in a theosophical group in Bogotá. Since then he was a great reader of religious and esoteric books, in a spiritual search that would lead him to join different organizations.
Later, in 1936, he joined the Bogota branch of the Old Rosicrucian Fraternity, founded by Arnold Krumm-Heller (Huiracocha), a Mexican soldier who, having been born in Salchendorf, Germany, on April 15, 1876, participated in the Revolution Mexican, since her family had emigrated to Mexico in 1923.
He claims to have been born with the particular faculty of astral unfolding, which allowed him, throughout his life, to directly investigate spirituality and esotericism known up to now. Likewise, investigate history, anthropology, ancient civilizations, religions, science, psychology and parapsychology.
It was in Armenia, in 1946, where Víctor Manuel met Arnolda Garro, who would become his wife in 1948. He lived in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, where he learned traditional medicine with the indigenous communities that have lived there since time immemorial, descendants of the Arhuacos. He practiced traditional medicine curing many people for free. This situation caused him problems with the medical authorities, since his remedies became famous and he did not have a license because he was not a doctor by profession.
He also wrote a book entitled "The Perfect Marriage" that would bring him problems with the religious authorities and some conservative circles in the country. At the end of that 1954, Víctor Gómez is finally apprehended and was imprisoned in Santa Marta (northern Colombia). The charges were for practicing medicine without being a doctor and not having a professional license. The accusation stated: «This gentleman, in addition to committing the crime of curing the sick, is also the author of a book entitled The Perfect Marriage, which is an attack against public morality and the good customs of the citizens"..
Julio Medina (a friend) paid the fine and Víctor Manuel is released from jail; but, as he continued to practice medicine, shortly after he had another arrest warrant against him, so his followers to help him, prepared the strategy for escape and the economic resources for his teacher to leave Colombia. Thus, at 37 years of age, Víctor Manuel Gómez Rodríguez, already with the alias of Samael Aun Weor, left his country of origin in 1956.
Since 1947, Víctor Manuel had begun to form a group of followers in Bogotá, so when he finished his book El Matrimonio Perfecto in January 1950, which he signed as Aun Weor, Julio Medina Vizcaíno, who was his patron and Godfather of Hipatia's baptism, it is published and distributed among the followers and at the doors of the spiritual and esoteric schools of Bogotá and the rest of Colombia.
Love, how beautiful it is to love. Only the great Souls can and can love. Love is infinite tenderness... love is the life that palpitates in every atom as a palpitate in every sun. Love cannot be defined because it is the Divine Mother of the World; it is that which comes to us when we are really in love. Love sits in the depths of the heart; it is a delicious experience; it is a fire that consumes, it is divine wine, delirium that drinketh it. A simple perfumed handkerchief, a letter, a flower, promote in the depths of the Soul tremendous intimate concerns, exotic ecstasy, ineffable voluptuousness. No one has ever been able to define love; we must experience it, we must feel it. Only great lovers really know what that is called love.Extract from the first chapter The perfect marriage. (Samael Aun Weor, 1950)
Thanks to that book and the dissemination that Julio Medina made of it, Víctor Manuel Gómez, now like Aun Weor, also became known in Venezuela and Central America.
Víctor Gómez Rodríguez (Samael Aun Weor), leaves Colombia with his wife and their three children: Isis, Osiris and Hypatia. They traveled by boat to Panama, where he formed the AGLA (Amerindian Gnostic Liberation Action), made up of his Universal Christian Gnostic Movement and ALAS (South America Liberation Action).), founded in Buenos Aires by the Argentine Francisco A. Propato (V. M. Luxemil) and the Ariavarta Áshram, of the Indian Swami Sivananda (1887-1963).
From there he continued by land to Costa Rica, where he spent a month giving talks in followers' houses and where his son Horus Gómez Garro was born.
They continue to the Republic of El Salvador, where he left a significant number of supporters.[citation required]
Later, at the beginning of 1957, he arrived in Veracruz (Mexico), to later move to the city of Toluca (Mexico) and shortly after to the capital of the country, where he established the Gnostic Association of Anthropological and Cultural Studies (AGEACAC).).[citation required]
On February 20, 1962, the Universal Christian Gnostic Movement, which at that time was led in Bogotá by Joaquín Amorteguí Valbuena (Master Rabolú), obtained legal recognition under Resolution 050.[citation required]
On October 27, 1976, the First International Gnostic Congress was held in Guadalajara, where Samael Aun Weor verbally handed over the intellectual property rights of all his works to "poor suffering humanity".[ citation required]
Víctor Gómez Rodríguez, according to his own statements, lived mainly from charity. He did not charge for the countless lectures he gave and books he has written. It is said that he gave up the copyright of his literary work
He advised those who tried to glorify him to seek work on themselves instead of wasting time vainly exalting his person. But, despite accepting a hymn, he imposed rituals on the 27th of each month and especially on October 27 to commemorate the advent of Logos Samael, thus creating a special date for his followers, which they equate with Jesus' Christmas.
Víctor Gómez Rodríguez (Samael Aun Weor) died on December 24, 1977 without an accurate diagnosis. After his death, in the 1978 Caracas congress, Arnolda (Litelantes teacher), her daughter Hipatia, Julio Medina (Gargakuichines teacher) and Joaquín Amorteguí (Rabolpu teacher), publicly fought to hold the leadership of the institutions gnostic. Finally they concluded in creating a triumvirate that lasted very little, since each one created their own branch, in addition to others, because self-appointed "masters" with the most exotic and bombastic names everywhere. As of the date of this edition, there are Gnostic associations in several countries.
Teaching
Gnosticism is a syncretic system of thought that encompasses fields as diverse as art, religion, science, and philosophy. It is difficult to locate its origin in time and geography, since there are those who claim that Jesus was a Gnostic, as well as more remote ancestors, while Catholicism claims that it began in the first four centuries of Christianity. It reached its most developed expression in the first two centuries of the Christian era, constituting a body of doctrine that the fathers of the Church considered heretical.
They affirm that their teaching is based on three pillars: "Mystical Death", "Scientific Chastity" and "Sacrifice for Humanity".
“Death on the march”
Death in progress is a psychological type of death, which directly impacts the awakening of consciousness. To "Death on the march" it is also designated by various other names; Elimination of defects, elimination of psychological aggregates, reducing the selves to cosmic dust. The egos come to be the psychological aggregates, whether these are the generals; anger, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, pride, greed that must be eliminated so that the essence remains free and consciousness can express itself.
Death in progress is a spiritual practice that involves psychological self-observation in the three brains (mind, heart and sex) to discover the "I" or psychological defects in ourselves. The practice consists of asking our Divine Mother Kundalini to remove and disintegrate those "I" that we have discovered through self-observation. The marching death is called like this because it is a death to each psychological defect that we discover "instant by instant", and it is carried out through supplication to our Divine Mother Kundalini.
This practice is considered the only door of redemption that God pointed out to humanity since Genesis. According to the teachings of Samael Aun Weor, the dissolution of the ego is done through observation, judgment and execution. Psychological self-observation in the three brains is the observation necessary to detect psychological defects. The supplication to our Divine Mother Kundalini in the practice of death in progress is the necessary judgment to prosecute psychological defects. The final execution is performed by our Divine Mother Kundalini, who disintegrates the psychological defect on the spot. The result will be the liberation of the 97% sleeping consciousness that each person possesses on average. A pertinent comparison can be seen in a messy, dirty room, full of garbage, debris, unnecessary things. By cleaning and vacating this room, space is left for light to enter and permeate the entire space.
“Scientific chastity”
In his first book, The Perfect Matrimony, he exposes the matter of Sexual Transmutation and establishes in that institution the conversion of semen into love and wisdom.
Samael Aun Weor argued that there was an essential requirement to regenerate the physical body and the psychic principles of the soul: "scientific chastity". In his presentation, he evidenced that through the transmutation of sexual energy (the male sperm or semen, and the liquids of the Skene glands in the female counterpart), it is possible to manufacture what he called Superior Existential Bodies of the Being (see astral body, mental body, causal body).
If man and woman know how to withdraw before the spasm, if they had in those moments of joy delicious willpower to dominate the animal ego, and if they were then removed from the act without shedding the semen, neither inside the womb, nor outside it, nor on the sides, nor anywhere, they would have committed an act of Sexual Magia, that is what is called in occultism the ARCANO A. Z. F.Samael Aun Weor (1961), in The perfect marriage.
[Jesus said] “The crowds cannot see the Superman. The Superman becomes invisible to the crowds.” Nicodemus did not understand any of this and replied, "How can this be done?" And Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou the Master of Israel, and knowest not this? Nicodemus really knew the Sacred Scriptures because he was a rabbi, but he did not know the sexual magic because Nicodemus was not initiated. [...] Jesus practiced Sexual Magic with a vestal of the Pyramid of Kefrén. So He was born. This was how He prepared to incarnate Christ. This was how he could incarnate Christ in the Jordan.Samael Even Weor, in The perfect marriage.
Man has the power to recreate himself. Man can create within himself the Superman. This is possible using sexual power wisely. We can recreate ourselves as real Supermen. This is only possible with sexual transmutation. The key to sexual transmutation is Arcane A. Z. F. (the Sexual Magistrate). In the union of the Phalo [sic, by falo or phallus] and the uterus has [sicthe key to all power. The important thing is that the couple learn to withdraw from the sexual act before the spasm, before the seminal stroke. The semen should not be poured into or outside the uterus, either on the sides, or anywhere. We speak so clear that people understand, even if some infrasexual puritans call us pornographic.Samael Even Weor, in The perfect marriage.
Many times he spoke out against theosophists, rosicrucians and spiritualists because they rejected the teaching of the "great arcane", the secret to awakening the Kundalini. He disagreed with the ideas of Gurdjieff, who considered that the Kundalini was something dangerous and undesirable for man. In the book The Revolution of Bel, Samael accused the first imperator of the Rosicrucians of the AMORC association as a "black magician" for promoting mentalism and "fornication". His teaching is fundamentally based on the practice of the Great Arcanum (that is, the practice of sexual magic within marriage) rejecting homosexuality, prostitution, masturbation, orgasm and ejaculation. [ quote required ] .
The center of Samael's doctrine is the transformation of human nature through the transmutation of sexual energy, to modify what medieval alchemists called the "lead of personality" into the "gold of the spirit".
Samael Aun Weor popularized the ancient knowledge of withholding ejaculation and maintained that the Divine Hierarchies are in charge of selecting a sperm to fertilize the female egg, therefore, according to him, it is absurd to ejaculate millions of sperm.[ citation required]
“Sacrifice for humanity”
Based on the etymological meaning of "sacrifice" as "do something sacred", we can understand "Sacrifice for humanity" as the action of doing something sacred or offering something in the name of humanity. The term "Sacred Office" It can also help us understand this concept, since it refers to a sacred office or service.
This concept, in practice, consists of offering selflessly, without any discrimination, the gift of Gnostic knowledge, with the aim of favoring individuals who consciously or unconsciously seek the teachings of the liberation of the being.
The Sacrifice for Humanity is an action that differs from charity in that it consists of delivering unlimited knowledge to humanity, which implies preparing oneself not only intellectually, but esoterically, that is, awakening consciousness. This sacrifice implies always working selflessly with infinite love for humanity, taking the word everywhere, forming Lumisiales and creating the World Salvation Army.
In the words of Samael Aun Weor: "We must love and adore all humanity, sacrifice ourselves for it and always be ready to give every last drop of blood for love of that poor suffering humanity. One must always work selflessly with infinite love for humanity, so we alter those bad causes that originated the bad effects"

Contributions
Since the 20th century, it has had a considerable impact on the historical evolution of Gnosis. This is mainly due to two reasons:
- It systematically demonstrates the universality of Ancient Knowledge, which it rescues and reveals in a work of more than 60 books and hundreds of recorded conferences.
- His work is animated by a precise practical didactic, based on direct experience, and that invites the aspirant to live teaching.
Samael Aun Weor is certainly not the first modern writer to delve into this universalist approach to knowledge. Note, for example, Mircea Eliade, Helena Blavatsky, Max Heindel, Carl Gustav Jung, George Gurdjieff, and Sri Ramakrishna. However, his work and experience became very popular in Latin America and Spain, due to the breadth and depth of his written texts. [citation needed ]
Criticism
To the neognostic movement
This Some authors have labeled the Gnostic Movement as a pseudo-church but rather they are unfounded attacks and baseless defamations . .
In 1990, after numerous consultations with members of the Catholic Church and other figures (such as lawyers, prosecutors, psychiatrists and psychologists) who preferred to remain anonymous, Pilar Salarrullana ―who has been a political figure since 1974 and is considered an expert in sects― published Sectas: a living testimony of messianic terror in Spain which became a bestseller with six editions in the first year and, despite its popular inquisitive tone, denounced neognostic movements as some of the "most dangerous in Spain" antisocial plagues, which denotes how involved the Vatican leadership is in attacking and persecuting the Gnostics as was done in the early days of the Catholic I. and during the inquisition.
Mary, the mother of Jesus, is the same Isis, Juno, Deméter, Ceres, Maía, etc., the Cosmic Mother or Kundalini (Sexual Fire) from which the Cosmic Christ is born always. [...] Mary Magdalene is the same Salambo, Matra, Ishtar, Astarté, Aphrodite and Venus with which we have to practice Sexual Magic to awaken the Fire.Samael Even Weor, in The perfect marriage.
In moments of Baptism, Christ entered into the adorable Jesus by the pineal gland.Samael Even Weor, The perfect marriage.
Starting in February 1984, the Government of Tenerife (Canary Islands) denied the legalization of the Universal Christian Gnostic Church of Spain, which was operating on Calle San Francisco 38, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, arguing that said organization it was not a legitimate church, since it did not have at that time any record of its constitution as such in any country.
On April 13, 2010, the Spanish Registry of Religious Entities registered the Murcia branch of the Neognostics as a religion.
Samael Aun Weor has been accused of plagiarizing the works of authors, repeated accusations but completely unfounded since knowledge is universal and does not belong to any master Eliphas Levi, Madame Blavatsky, George Guryíef, Jiddu Krishnamurti and Arnold Krumm-Heller

Criticism of homosexuality
Samael Aun Weor in some books and conferences wrote about homosexuality. She considered it a wrong way to experience sexuality, arguing that it was against what nature has foreseen. In addition, she related it to a form of violence against the original or primal nature of sexuality. In this sense, she speaks of the sphere of abuse (Nahemah) and violence (Lilith) in sexuality. In the latter he places homosexuality due, according to him, to being a kind of violence against the normal sexual act, due to the fact that the sexual organs do not fit (biologically speaking):
Anael represents the positive lightning of Venus (gods). Lilith represents the negative beam of Venus (gods). The traditions of the great cabalists say that Adam had two wives: Lilith and Nahemah. Lilith is the mother of abortions, pedorisms, sexual degeneration, homosexualisms, infanticides, etc., etc. Nahemah is the mother of adultery. Nahemah seduces with the charm of her beautySamael Even Weor, in The perfect marriage. Chapter III, pp. 21-22.
Although he promulgated in his teaching respect for all beings in general, and homosexuals in particular, he was emphatic that this way of proceeding in sexuality was not in accordance with the postulates of Sacred Sexuality that he disclosed in his book The Perfect Marriage:
Lilith's sphere is distinguished by its cruelty. The psychology of this sphere has various aspects: monks or nuns who hate sex. Homosexualism in the convents. Homosexualisms out of every monastic life. Abortions provoked. People who love masturbation. Gentes criminals del lupanar. People who enjoy torturing others. In this sphere we find the most horrible crimes that record thePolice records. Horrible cases of blood, crimes of homosexual origin. Terrific sadism. Homosexualism in prisons. Homosexualism among women. Stunning mental criminals. Those who enjoy making suffer as they love.
Horrible infanticides. Parricidios, matricidios, etc., etc. Seudo-ocultist people who prefer to suffer from nocturnal pollutions before marriage. People who mortally hate the Arcane A.Z.F., and the Perfect Marriage. People who believe they come to God hate sex. Gentes anacoretas who hate sex, and who consider it vulgar and rude.Samael Even Weor, in The perfect marriage, Chapter IV, pp. 34-35.
Additionally, he considered the intake of contraceptives due to their chemical components that, according to him, damage the sexual nature of men and women.
