Safri Duo
Safri Duo is a Danish percussion-based trance and dance music group, whose members are Uffe Savery (born April 5, 1966) and Morten Friis (born August 21, 1966). 1968). The name comes from the first letters of the musicians' last names (SAvery, FRIis) and the word DUO as there are two members of the group.
Although he was made known at the beginning of the current century, he had already recorded albums since 1990. Generally his music is instrumental.
History
Uffe Savery and Morten Friis met when they were in the Tivoli Garden Boys' Guard Then they met at the Royal Conservatory of Denmark, where they formed an experimental duo under the name Safri Duo.
The duo's recording career began in 1990, when they produced the album Turn up volume. This, along with five other albums, were based on compositions by Bach, Chopin and other musicians from the classical era of music.
A new episode
Their talent made Universal Music Denmark hire them in 1999, and in 2002 they became known worldwide with their album Episode II, which was a great success for the group; Produced by Michael Parsberg, it produced the hits Played-A-Live (The Bongo Song), Samb-Adagio and Baya-Baya. They gave a musical tour in some countries, such as Denmark (their native country), Tajikistan, the United States, Chile, Brazil, Venezuela and Mexico. In the same year the album Episode II: The Remix Edition was released, a compilation of the album Episode II, with the song Sweet Freedom, with vocals by Michael McDonald (it was a hit).
Safri Duo 3.0 and 3.5
In 2003 his album Safri Duo 3.0 was released; In it Clark Anderson, a new member, sang the songs All the people in the world, Agogo Mosse and Laarbasses. Of the songs included in this material, Rise was a hit for the group. So much so, that this song had a remix called Rise (Leave me alone), which reappeared in the also new version of the album Safri Duo 3.0: Safri Duo 3.5: International version, which included the 80's classic "Knock on Wood" and the famous entry from Verónica Castro's program, "Ritmo de la Noche", as well as some of her songs from the previous album modified by fans of the group.
In 2004 they were part of the XLV International Song Festival of Viña del Mar in Chile. Although they admitted their little knowledge regarding this great event, they trusted in their electronic scene for the closing of the festival edition, and managed to obtain the "Silver and Gold Torch" in his performance at Quinta Vergara.
After a few years without news, in November 2007 they announced a new album and a new world tour.

Safri Duo's fourth album was released on November 17, 2008. Its first single is Twilight
Safri Duo: Greatest Hits
In 2010, after two years of inactivity, they returned to the fray with a Greatest Hits album, which includes a new single adapted to the commercial house of the moment: "Helele". They recorded it with Velile, and it was part of the promotion for German television RTL during May, the month in which the World Cup was played in South Africa. The album went on sale on June 26.
Eurovision
At the Eurovision Song Contest 2001, Safri Duo performed with the group Aqua.
