Saeko Chiba
Saeko Chiba (千葉 紗子, Chiba Saeko?) is a seiyū who was born on August 26, 1977 in Tokyo, Japan. She grew up in Tokyo, Japan, and got married on her 30th birthday: August 26, 2007.
Biography
Saeko Chiba took ballet classes at a young age with ambitions of becoming a part of the Takarazuka Revue. However, after failing the entrance exam for Takarazuka Music School in his third year of high school, he joined the Minami Aoyama Shōjo Kageki Dan ( 南 青山 少女 歌劇 団 , Aoyama South Opera Girl Group?) a stage group of teenage girls.
After having several leading roles during the three years she spent with the company, Saeko was then cast in the lead voice acting role of Kotori Haruno in the Dreamcast game Kitae. After having had the taste of being a voice actress and deciding that she preferred voice acting to performing on stage, Saeko decided to pursue a career full time.
Some of his early roles include his debut voice acting as Tsubaki Sakura in Kare Kano, Kitsune no Akane in Angel Tales, and Elliot Chapman in Sci -Fi Harry. Saeko was famous for her long, straight, black hair and seemingly cold outward appearance, which led her to cast herself in various tsundere and 'cool-Girl' roles. She then cut her hair short in the spring of 2005, which interestingly coincided with the increasing diversity of her roles, as Saeko herself observed in the My-HiME fandisc interview..
Saeko has also pursued a singing career with Yuki Kajiura, who wrote music for some of the Nansho stage shows, writing and producing almost all of their material. The first single from her was Koi no Kiseki , the theme song for the PlayStation game Meguri Aishite . Since then, she has released nine singles and two albums, along with several character songs and drama CDs. She has also performed songs for games like Alundra 2 and Atelier Judie .
Saeko was also part of the group Tiaraway with fellow Nansho member Yuka Nanri. Originally recording and performing as 'Saeko Chiba and Yuka Nanri' Memories Off 2nd, the duo released three singles and one album before breaking up on March 6, 2005.
Private life
On February 17, 2011, Saeko gave birth to her first child, a girl.
