The term circulation (or circulation in some American countries) is used by engravers, dealers and collectors. This is the name given to the set of identical pieces from the same sheet, stone, template or other surface. The sequence is printed by the artist himself, a printer or printer under his supervision. Each piece in the run can be numbered, for example 1/100 indicates that it is the first of a run of 100 and 100/100 indicates that it is the last. The numbering is done directly on the engraving, usually in pencil. Additional checks, such as status checks, are part of the roll. The term good or original proof indicates that it is a print produced in this way as part of a limited run.

The circulation of a magazine or newspaper is the number of copies of the same that go on sale, it is also called circulation or circulation.
